The Beautiful Mountain-Top Cabin for Sale, in Northern New Mexico - Amenities Included

Amenities Included
Insulation: This house has a wonderful insulation "R" value,
due to the long center hole in each of the logs, and 10 inches of insulation
in the roof (whcih has a beautiful-to-look-at tongue-in-groove (tng) pine ceiling).
The rustic look of the interior logs is truly enchanced by the 8-10 inch thick
rock floor, which is a huge thermal mass that acts as a heat sink in the winter
and a cooling agent in the summer.
Lighting: There are "Tiffany" - like: two hanging in the living/dining area and two wall sconces on the stairs wall and in the master bedroom. The large bedroom downstairs has a ceiling light that is energy-efficient (but you can change this bulb if you do not like florescent). The Kitchen and downstairs bath have halogen track lights. The large windows throughout the house allow plenty of light in all seasons to enter at all times during the day.
Propane Appliances: The refrigerator is efficient and quiet (it is an RV-type refrigerator that we have installed in a cabinet). It has an electric (snapper) starter and a pilot light. The flash water heater only lights when hot water is needed (no tank, which wastes energy and water). It is efficient and HOT, and has a constant pilot light (also started with a manual snapper). The stove/oven is a standard propane appliance.
Radio Telephone: Works just like a normal telephone only no wires come to the house. It uses microwaves that point to a transponder on a pole near Coyote Creek State Park. Normal telelphone charges apply (about $27 month with Mora County's La Jicarrita Telephone Cooperative, plus long distance charges on your choice of carrier)
Solar Power: See mechanicals page. This 2500 watt system is plenty enough for a family of two-four, generally. It only provides 120 volts AC, so if you want a dryer or big power tools that use 240 VAC, forget it. BUT we are providing a back-up generator (8000 watts at 120 or 4000 watts at 240) for this big power needs or emergencies. The eight batteries will be replaced for the new owner. They last about 7 years.
Large windows that face South bring in plenty of heat in the winter, and the large "ship-like" over hang of the roof, provides plenty of shade in the summer (the sun never even enters the house in the summer, except in the early sunrise - morning and very late after noon - evening).
Tiled kitchen counters and plenty of storage in kitchen and hallways.
More Storage: Big, walk-in closets in downstairs bedroom and master bedroom (upstairs).
Baths: Two showers, two toilets ... one up the other down-stairs. Downstairs toilet is fed by grey water caught from the two showers. Efficient!
More: Beauftiful rustic woods trim and floors throughout upstairs and in the bedrooms. Large "vigas" and plaster in bedroom #1 (downstairs).
